wow Muriel, do you have a wasps nest in or near your home? :S sounds painful... I'm quite lucky ive not seen a single wasp this summer as yet and only been bitten abou 3 times all summer by a daddy-long-legs. -

Thanks Laura and Kat...no, I don't have a single wasps nest at my house...however, my client did, my neighbor does, two times I've mowed her lawn and been bitten in the same spot in the yard. Today she sprayed the lawn, I mowed without being bitten. Today might be a lucky day after all...so far no bites and I'm staying inside now that the storm has struck and the air conditioner is on...and it's too wet to do anything in the garden.
Bees on the ground, seriously, with all this rain and humidity...and flowers blooming and grass growing...must have something to do with it. Bloody hell!

Marie...only you could get away with this! I think I snorted when I read your post...yes, that would be a total crack up...me in a wetsuit in 90% humidity in Noo Yawk mowing the lawn...I hope this included the snorkel and mask cause let's face it...those @())#($*)(#$ bit me on the face 3 freakin times!
I'm only suffering today from mosquitos bites...too many to count...seriously...it's insane right now with insects...like where is global warming when you need it?
My neighbor is an illustrator, he does cartoons for NY Times etc...I have to throw this by him and get him to come up with a cartoon...priceless!

Oh hell yes...the bugs have taken over big time. All this rain and cooler temps have been a breading ground in the midwest for the regular ones and other are coming up just to enjoy the great weather that normally don't make it this way. Just lovely.
I have only gotten stung once so far, but I've also been doing the spastic hornet dance a lot to keep them at bay.
This is one thing I enjoy as I get older. I have no fear of doing ridiculous things...I just don't give a rats butt about what the neighbors think. Ah yes...another step closer to being the old crazy lady of the neighborhood...growing vegetables in the shape of Presidents heads and since I'm alergic to cats...I'll probably have 1,000 fish.
Ah yes...life is good.
Take care of those bites! -

Cathy I'm pleased to have some support on this one...and am so glad it's not just me. The bit about the veges in the shape of Presidents heads kind of makes you win the 'old crazy lady of the neighborhood' award! I'm happy to give you the honor!
So far no bites today...but it ain't over yet! -

Heavens !! I came online to see which member ... or if we wanted to take turns because I think something should be done about the custody of Muriel ! Then I find that possibly Cathy needs same custodial care...although she did note that she doesn't give a rat's ..... well you get the picture. Who is going to step up and fight for the custody of these two marvelous women ?!!! -
