Munchausen by Proxy

Mothers who verbally or mentally abuse children behind closed doors, yet simultaneously exaggerate the difficulties of taking care of daughters who they claimed to be mentally ill or health problem in order to gain sympathy from others IS considered as Muchausen by Proxy too.
Many mothers take advantage of other people's sympathy in the society simply claiming they are mothers with lots of burden, yet deep down and when behind closed doors, they resent to have the children and would verbally abuse the children constantly to blow off their steam.

ah yes, I have heard of this name. But mothers can also exaggerate the difficulty of taking care of children who are not ill, which is what happened in my case.

For those of us whose mothers were (or still are) abusive to us. In a society that puts mothers on a pedestal it can often be lonely dealing with the feelings of hurt, betrayal, anger, emptiness and grief of having an abusive mother.
