God, a Higher Power as we understand Him, is our source of guidance and
positive change. This doesnt mean were not responsible for ourselves. We
are. But we arent in this alone.

Life is not a do it yourself project. We dont have to become overly concerned about changing ourselves. We can do our part, relax, and trust that the changes well experience will be right for us. We dont have to look to other people as our source to meet our needs. They can help us, but they are not the source.

As we learn to trust the process, we start to understand that a relationship with our Higher Power is no substitute for relationships with people. We dont need to hide behind religious beliefs or use our relationship with a Higher Power as an excuse to stop taking responsibility for ourselves and taking care of ourselves in relationships. But we can tap into and trust a Power greater than ourselves for the energy, wisdom, and guidance to do that.

Today, I will look to my Higher Power as a source for all my needs, including the changes I want to make in my life.

Psychologists tell us that every one of us thinks an average of between 65,000 and 70,000 thoughts a day and 90 to 95% of those thoughts are repetitive. They're the same thoughts we've always thought and they become the patterns of our thinking. Thought patterns create the experiences of our lives. Listen to your thoughts today. Are they negative, self-limiting, self-diminishing? Or are they radiant with joy and life and creativity? We can change our thinking, and we can change the pattern of our lives. Herein lies the secret to authentic power.

AA Thought of the Day / I try to hold fast to the truth that a full and thankful heart cannot entertain great conceits. When brimming with gratitude, one's heartbeat must surely result in outgoing love, the finest emotion that we can ever know. / As Bill Sees It, p. 37

The only way our world will change (our personal interior world and the world outside) is for us to take action, in whichever way we feel appropriate. However, it behooves us to realize that acting from acceptance means letting go of the energies of anger, blame, criticism, revenge, self-pity, etc. We can much more efficiently affect change by doing so with an impartial energy -- one that seeks to improve, to heal, to "make better" -- rather than one that want to prove the "other behavior" wrong.

Marie T. Russell

By practicing spiritual knowledge or discrimination between our Selves and our minds, we can observe fear functioning on its own. The idea here is that since we can observe the mind and comment on its activity, obviously, we cannot be the mind, but rather some higher entity that is observing it. Thus, we can see that it is not our true Self that is expressing fear, but the mind, which is only an organ or instrument. We can watch the mind, the imagination and the whole passing drama of our lives as a witness.

Robert Elias Najemy

"Every day, just as a tree grows, so do we as beings. As you change, observe how your beauty changes. Within change is the beauty of life's mysteries. The mysterious thing called life is not a mystery at all but a natural evolution toward perfection."

Ron Rathbun

The beauty of spiritual qualities is that they bring forth much more than dry intellectual tolerance; they infuse loving kindness into all our relationships. There is nothing better than that.

"Asking for help doesn't mean that we are weak or incompetent. It usually indicates an advanced level of honesty and intelligence."

Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.

Og Mandino

Most people are searching for happiness. They're looking for it. They're trying to find it in someone or something outside of themselves. That's a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something that you are, and it comes from the way that you think.

Wayne Dyer

"To seek happiness outside of ourselves is like trying to lasso a cloud. Happiness is not a thing, It is a state of mind."

Omar Khayyam

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

A.A. Milne

"Real power is usually unspectacular, a simple setting aside of fear that allows the free flow of love. But it changes everything."

Marilyn Beck

I walk ahead of myself in perpetual expectancy of miracles.
