It's good to focus on the task ahead, on what remains to be done. It's important to stop and feel pleased about what we've accomplished too. Yes, it may seem that the change has been slow. At times, change is grueling. Yes, we've taken steps backward. But we're right where we're supposed to be. We're right where we need to be. And we have come so far.

Sometimes by leaps, sometimes with tiny steps, sometimes kicking and screaming all the while, sometimes with sleeves rolled up and white knuckles, we've learned. Grown.

Changed. Look how far we've come.

Today, I will appreciate my progress. I will let myself feel good about what has been accomplished.

AA Thought of the Day / Selfishness - self-centeredness! That, we think, is the root of our troubles. / AA, p. 62

Anything that is worth doing, is worth doing with a whole heart. And mind. And body. We get into trouble not because we do things that are wrong, but because we approach our activities with divided intentions. Our body is doing one thing while our heart is elsewhere. We go to jobs we'd rather not be at, we sleep with people we don't love, we go to parties we secretly find boring or repulsive. At the same time we love people we don't express our love for, we deny ourselves food we would really enjoy, we have creative impulses we do not follow, we know truths we do not act on.

Alan Cohen

If you were to make a cake, you know that whatever you put into your mixing bowl will appear in the cake itself, and, if you leave out a specific ingredient, it will not appear in the finished product. The thoughts and beliefs that we choose to fill our minds ultimately will appear in our experience, and if we realize this, we can save ourselves a lot of trouble. No one would put the wrong ingredient in the mixing bowl because no one wants it in the cake, for everyone knows that, if it's in the bowl, it's in the cake!

Courage is reclaiming your life after a devastating event robs you of your confidence and self-esteem. It is facing tomorrow with a firm resolve to reach deep within yourself to find another strength, another talent... It is taking yourself to another level of your own existence where you are once again whole, productive, special..

Catherine Britton

"You can never get to peace and inner security without first acknowledging all of the good things in your life. If you're forever wanting and longing for more without first appreciating things the way they are, you'll stay in discord."

Doc Childre and Howard Martin

"The new earth arises as more and more people discover that their main purpose in life is to bring the light of consciousness into this world and to use whatever they do as a vehicle for consciousness."

Eckhart Tolle

We can stay safe, or what we think is safe, close in to the trunk of the tree, where there is little movement. Or, we can wander out to the skinny branches, where things grow and there is some risk. The best fruit on the tree grows on skinny branches.

"You're never going to get to any final place. And so, we want to remind you to relax and start having fun on the way."

Abraham-Hicks

We live at the edge of the miraculous.
