Intimacy is not something we can just wait for and hope it will show up one day. Intimacy is something we have to make space for and do some work on. We have to get comfortable with ourselves, be able to be intimate with ourselves. It's about being fearless about who and what we are, being able to stand in our Truth and letting people see us, all of us, good, bad and ugly, and not closing up. Until we can let people see us in that way, we're not going to 'find' the intimacy that we seek. We are often pretty well defended, yet we wonder why we're not intimate with people. We have to learn to get past our fears, to be ok being undefended, to be real and authentic. It is then and only then that we will attract into our lives the depth of relationship that we've been missing.

Let someone listen to you, support and encourage you when you need that. Receive comfort from someone's physical presence when you need that. Allow yourself to be supported emotionally and cared about.
Melody Beattie
What is not love is fear. Anger is one of fear's most potent faces. And it does exactly what fear wants it to do. It keeps us from receiving love at exactly the moment when we need it most.

"Harmonizing heart and brain through love is what can establish a complete intelligence, a complete self, where a child can look at life and realize there are no dead ends, there are always possibilities. The greatest gift a parent can give a child during all the ups and downs of life is love."
Doc Childre
"Zen is not some kind of excitement; but concentration on our usual everyday routine."
Shunryu Suzuki
"Dare to be naive."
