Bless your heart. I understand, while looking through a catalog I was thinking about what I could get my Dad for Christmas too. It hurts. -

I miss my Daddy too. He was my favorite to buy for, because no matter what I got him, he acted like I had given him the best presents in the world :-) One thing I got him every year, and even in between-like Easter, etc. was a big box of Russell Stover candy. That was his very favorite chocolate. It was really breaking my heart that I could not get him his Russell Stover this year-I mean I was really boohooing over it. But someone told me this year that I should go ahead and get it, and then give it to someone who would otherwise not have a Christmas gift-like someone in a retirement home with no family around or someone in a homeless shelter. That way someone would receive a gift NOT BECAUSE MY DADDY DIED, BUT BECAUSE HE LIVED. That perspective really meant a lot to me. I bought the box of candy and it is still sitting in my kitchen. I haven't yet decided who to give it to...........but I will, as a tribute to my Daddy. That way, someone else in the world can be happy (even if just for a moment) because of my Daddy-besides me, that is.
