Learning Patience (Rest Minstries) by Frieda

Posted on 06/28/09, 09:56 am

"Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin
that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be
your confidence and will keep your foot from
being snared." (Prov. 3:25&26 NIV)

Outside my window today I heard a twitter
twitter, a definite scolding of a black bird.
With our outside cats I thought perhaps
a cat was trying to catch this definitely
frightened bird.

So up I got off my chair to check out
the scene and to see if I could assist my
feathered friend in any way.

I fully expected to see a Mama bird fighting
for the life of her young one, especially since
they were nested in the tree closest to our
house.

Instead I found a baby bird (almost grown)
looking very upset and disturbed that his
Mama was not coming to his side.

He kept scolding from his tree limb. He
looked almost full grown except for a
a small soft downy tuft of feather left
over from his chick days on the top of
his shiney black head.

After standing there for a few minutes
I finally saw his Mama fly over to him.
It dawned on me then that she was trying
to teach him to fly on his own.

Hmmm... then I thought how like us was
that child bird. We cry and cry out to
God many times with impatience and
hurry up rush, hurry up rush.

God is there for us just like that Mama
bird was there for her almost grown
baby. She was teaching him patience
and how to be strong and to fly on
his own.

God help us to have patience and to
trust You in all things. Help us to know
that no matter what we are going through
that You will give us the strength and
perseverance to fly. Thank You Lord.

Love n hugs, frieda

Frieda, you gave me goose bumps....falling out of my nest taught me I can fly....my weak legs and knees are not needed for flying free
Thank you, Lord, for the words of Frieda...I wonder what is the meaning of your name?

Welcome
