302 lbs

I have an idea. It's a variation of what I tried in the past. Before I decided that every week I was going to add one good habit or give up one bad habit. The problem with this was that as I gave up a bad habit, I compensated by developing new bad habits. When I took up a good habit, I found that I could not sustain long term. Before long, I was ten lbs heavier, and had given up completely.

But what if I make it simplier. I'll give up all bad food habits all at once, but simply not eating anything. That's right. My only intake will be water. It can't get more simplier than that. I'll weigh every day, and when I get down to 194, I'll add another liquid. This way, with the few days of water only intake, I'll clean out my system. Then I'll slowly introduce back in some healthy choices, starting with liquids.

I'm planing also to add movement (not exercise.) In the beginning, with water only, I won't be concerned about how much movement I get. But when I reach my 294 goal, and I add more calories in the form of another liquid, I will also add movement. It won't be anything strenous, perhaps a few minutes of stretching. In this way, it will keep with my "simple" phylosophy, not being something that I'll soon give up.

This is going to take tremendouls will power to start with. I hope I'm us for the challenge. Simple but not easy... I'll keep posting.

    Hello,

I just joined DS today, and have been perusing the groups, seeing where I might fit in. Main goal is weight loss, can relate well to this topic, but it was posted a while ago, so am wondering where you're at with this...did you try fasting? I can relate to the desire to just get some results. I'm not fasting, but am not 100% what exactly I am going to do.

Welcome

Do you wonder why you can't get control? So do people who repeatidly wash their hands, knowing that the act is irrational, but having this strong compulsion. The words of "compulsive overeater" does not carry the weight of the disease. People don't get it. But why should they. AT 300 lbs, I don't get it either...
