Message Alerts on DS, are they real?

How many times do people post threatening suicide? Am I supposed to take them seriously? I'm not sure this is good for me. I am a Christian and as such concerned with saved or unsaved brothers and sisters who seem to play on this for attention. I cannot disregard their threats any more than I can disregard my religion. But, here I am up in the middle of the night concerned about a stranger. Do you just remove them from your friends list? How do you maintain distance and still support them?

There is a link to a list of "Crisis Hotlines" on the bottom right of the DS page. I would NOT try to get involved personally. I would tell them that I am concerned, and will pray for them. Then ask them to contact one of the Suicide hotlines provided by DS.
