My emotions BEGAN to normalize at around 2 and half months of NC.

At 90 days I felt mostly normal again.

I'm at six months of NC now.

One day at a time.

It does get better. I promise.

Desertflower has it about right. It does depend on each person, but definitely give yourself a strong 6 months to feel a lot better. I even had a small relapse at the 1 year mark (I thought I was missing OM and made the mistake of calling him), I was able to quickly realize my mistake and nip it in the bud pretty fast, but thankfully I did not feel all the horrible grieving I had felt originally in letting him go! I have forgiven myself the goof up, but I was really mad at myself for reaching out to him again. That was at Christmas time (holidays are evil), so I feel like I had to almost restart NC- like an alcoholic who screws up and has a drink- But I have been good so far, and do not feel the need to reach out to him. Hang in there....it does get easier. I have more moments of thinking to myself...what in the hell was I ever thinking, getting involved in the affair- than missing him!!

After 1 month I was still a zombie. I'm 13 months out now & much better. Everyone is different.

Update....calming down. Just spent the whole weekend in the same town as him and felt ok. I think I am on the path to healing. Or maybe my new meds are just working. Either way, at least I am not crying in the cereal isle anymore.
