Cute/funny kitten story

Posted on 11/03/09, 10:27 pm
My mom and nephew recently adopted a kitten, or it adopted them... either way they have a good barn kitten now. After taking the little guy to the vet and all that he's given a clean bill of health and sent home to hunt field mice until he's fat and happy.

Then all of a sudden he stops eating and starts getting all skinny. So I get a couple cans of cat's milk for him. The replacement stuff for kittens who are weaned to early. After a couple cans of the formula he's back to hunting mice in the barn.

I went out there today to do a little laundry and my nephew brings the kitten in the house to "play", which really means nap under the sofa for the kitten and sweet treats for the kid. After a couple hours we hear my nephew in the play room talking to the kitten. "Hey, buddy! Do you want to see me stand on my head? Look, buddy! I can do a back flip." It's just comical to hear and watch. Not long after that we hear ewwwwww, this kitten stinks someone needs to give him a bath. After explaining that cats don't like water and since he lives out in the barn, it's not a good idea to bathe him until the weather warms up.

That's an answer he can live with. Then he says, "Well if you can't give him a whole bath at least wash his butt because it stinks!" The kitten pooped in the corner of the room. He will use a litter box, but because he's rarely in the house my mom never bothered to get a litter box for him. Even though he's a little kitten he doesn't like to be in the house for long. Something outside the window will catch his attention and he'll pounce the back door until he's let out to catch it.

The kitten is healthy, but still nameless. My step dad calls him trigger, don't know why (incidently he also calls his pick up trigger). My nephew has given him 800 different names, this week it's buddy. My mom calls him cat, and he comes every time. He's yellow with orange and white tiger stripes.

I've not gotten any pictures of him yet. He won't sit still for the camera. So much like my nephew, I swear it's because they are both both boys and red headed. I'll get one soon to post though.
