I'm looking to be a mentor. Helping others is something I can do, it's helping myself that I struggle with.

    1) No age/gender restrictions
    2) I'm here almost everyday (usually during the day - I try to check in at least once a day).
    3) If I became a mentor, I'd give the person I would be mentoring another way to get in touch with me so that I'd be available almost anytime needed.

I could use a couple dozen mentors.

I am a working very hard to overcome a breakdown which occured five years ago due to hostile environmental work related stress. I have what they call a major depression and anxiety disorder.
I am light years better than I was.

My relationship with my sons faltered when I became ill.
That has caused me additional discomfort.

I am also working on sexual abuse issues, ptsd, food issues and I have experienced emotional and some physcial abuse in my relationships with men.

    My parents are/were alcoholics.

Despite my rap sheet above, I can be, at times, positively perky.
I have learned to deeply appreciate the person I have become through some very long and hard recovery work.

Sometimes I do get a little overwhelmed when daily life trips me up.

I am on DS daily. I try to be very motivated. I am going to get my life back in even better shape that it was before.

It would be cool to have someone that knows me well and offers support.
Of course, I can be a good source of support at times, also.

I know it is really important to actually feel the feelings that abuse victims surpress. I am have been doing that for years. I have even been able to improve during my breakdown. To me, work on the feelings is necessary. I do, however, keep my focus on the fact that things do get better, people do improve, life can be very good. That is my direction.....better, improvement..life is good.

I am very spiritual. However, my spirituality is very low key and very simple. My sons used to watch Star Wars, etc. When I first heard the phrase, " May the Force Be With You " I loved it.
That is exactly how I feel. When I am in sinc with myself and all the forces that be...postive energy, the universe, God...I am at my best.
I would prefer having a mentor that has a compatible sense of personal and spiritual reference. Structured religion is a wonderful, wonderful thing for many others, it is not something that works for me.

So if you are a free spirit, if you know about depression, or sexual abuse, or ptsd, or ACOAs, or emotional and or physcial abuse, sleep issues because of all the previsouly mentioned lucious lovelies and if you can help motivate and give support for depression and anxiety and daily body pain..if you are someone who can help me consistantly work on getting my body in shape and dealing with compulsive overeating and body image issues...well then you are a freaken saint and a very sought after commoditiy.

If you identify with any of my issues and would like to interact, give me a buzz.

I am looking to be a mentor. I gave some information to Aimee, or you can "befriend" me if you want to just talk and go on a more casual basis.
