Hi all. I am a 39 year old chick who is freaked out about how the eighties are back in fashion......wtf? I like it though, it is wild and makes me feel somehow OLD. I love the leggings, ratted hair, big belts, stripped oversized shirts, its all good. I use to dress like this as a teen and my dad would not walk with me, said i looked like a hooker. Ahhh, those were the days. And fashion wise, teenage girls are looking awfully similar. Thoughts on 80's fashion comeback? Good, not good?

  hahaha some of it is alright, it depends! I remember we had to pin our pants with safety pins up the legs to make them extra tight, we'd have to unpin a zilion safety pins to get undressed LOL now clothes are more elasticized. There's been a lot of advancements in the fabrics and there are cheap places to buy clothes like Forever 21. I hated the 80's like some ppl hate the 70's, but lately I decided I was painting a broad brush, there is some good music out of the 80's but half of it is just TERRIBLE. Same with fashion. I laugh when I see kids at son's middle school, dressed like 80's, I'm buying him clothes to look like the English Beat ... it's fun to re-live it since I didn't get to enjoy it the first time around! now I'm enjoying it a lot more - the pressure is OFF :)

  it shocked me too, but the 70's revival that occurred thoughout the 90's and early 2000's shocked me more and i hated looking at that both times around. i don't have an interest in the 80's copies because i already did all of that. but it is amusing. what is interesting is that in the 80's a lot of the clothing was a take off of the mid 60's which was when my mother graduated highschool. so i guess it goes every other decade its a copy of two decades earlier? i didn't take history of fashion so i am just guessing. i know with hair they say it goes straight ten years, then curly ten years, then straight ten years on and on and on. makes you realize why many people after a while leave the fashion thing behind as just plain silly and don't bother anymore.

For everyone born in 60's and 70's - anything goes! I've been posting entertainment value, & didn't realize, that with just 5 channels I still managed to watch a lot of tv. Also like to post about music, cars, and other things unique to our age. It's also fun to hear about what it was like growing up in countries around the world at that time
