Weight Loss Challenge

It does not matter if you have 5 pound to lose or 100 pounds to lose.
I have been quit for 6 months now and have gained approximately 20 pounds!
Somtimes I think about starting smoking again so I will lose weight!
But.........I won't let that happen.
Please join me if you will ...and lets get the ball rolling.

This is really interesting. We have some things in common: we are all women; we are within the same age bracket; we've all been quit for around the same amount of time, give or take a month or so; and we all gained around the same amount of weight. And we are all determined to lose it and we are not going to start smoking again in order to lose weight!!!

I'm only on day 5 since I quit. I've quit before and have always put on weight. I've started again because of the weight gain.... stupid I know.

Does smoking really speed up our metabulism that much? I'm sure I'm nibbling a little bit more; maybe it'll just take a couple of weeks to settle down.

Yesterday I made a huge batch of vege soup and am snacking on that whenever I feel the need. I've aleady been for a brisk walk this morning and am about to take the kids out for a bike ride.

I guess there's not much more that I can do except do a bit of exercise every single day. I don't add sugar to tea or coffee; and I don't drink sodas.

    Have a great day

Howdy ladies!! I have been nicotine free for 59 days!!! YAY!!! I have kinda been doing my own biggest loser thing on my own and it appears to be working... I've lost 2.2 pounds!!!! :-)

I need to lose 12.8 more to lose the 15 pounds I gained before I quit smoking. I intend to lose the rest of the weight by exercising 3-4 times a week (not including my skating) and a sensible diet. Oh yeah... an no pepsi. :-(

Hey, great, a few more members! Did everybody read the recent post about sugar on the main smoking addiction board? Steeler, do you care to give us some details about what you did to lose the weight and how long you had been doing it? Anybody else want to say what they are doing? Feel free to refer us to journal entries if you already wrote about it. If anybody is interested in what I'm up to on the diet and fitness front, see my journal entry of 4/6/08. That pretty much spells it out.

Good Morning all!! What have I been doing to shed 2.2 pounds? I documented my plan in my journal entry from 3/30. It's nothing really profound... just paying attention to what I am eating, staying within a certain calorie intake (depending on gym days), going to the gym, and eliminating Pepsi from the equation. Oh, and drinking H20. That's it.

I went to the gym last night... gosh darn it I felt good. I usually hate going to the gym in the evening because it is crowded, but I cant seem to get my lazy bum out of bed in the morning to go before work. I have been sleeping better though.

This may sound crazy but I can't wait to get on the scale next week!! :-)

Damn I am inspired by Beesley's journal, but Steeler , wow! It is time, I feel it's time and I must shed some pounds!
