Four More Reasons To Drink Red Wine

Posted on 01/25/09, 01:21 pm
It's common knowledge that a glass or two of red wine a night will do more than enhance a great meal or put you to sleep: it can reduce production of "bad" cholesterol, boost "good" cholesterol and reduce blood clotting, all of which will help reduce the risk of heart disease. But recent studies are showing that wine aficionados may also reap even more benefits, from inhibiting tumor development to helping form nerve cells. Here's a roundup of four recent studies that might encourage you to uncork that bottle of merlot:

1)It Can Help Keep You Fit
2)It May Help Fight Alzheimer's
3)It Boosts Heart-Healthy Omega 3 Levels.
4) It May Lower Lung Cancer Risk

Just keep in mind, this is in Moderation......a glass or two a day, not a bottle or two a day.......;-)

I don't like red wine either....a rose is about as red as I like, though with certain foods I can tolerate red wines.....

Oh if only I could - that's tempting but I'd be downing a bottle or two in no time. Pomegranate juice is very good for antioxidants too - I'll have to stick to those.

The jury still seems to be out on this one, like the tumours with cell phone usage. Just recently on the radio they are now saying wine and alcohol can cause breast cancer in woman, as I said to my husband, first choc is good for you then it isnt, then wine is good, next minute it causes cancer ???? what is the truth ? will we ever know lol

No we don't ever know it seems. Do we think it could be hype? Something for newspapers to talk about? Just a thought
