Maintaining the 80s hair

How many of you girls remember frying your forehead with the curling iron-trying to get those perfect bangs? And how about the hair products we all used?

Anybody remember hair products? Dippity-Doo and Dep where pretty big hair gel brands at the time!

I kept my hair style simple--a mullet.

Sweden, I was an Aquanet girl, too. That stuff was like super strength glue!

In high school, I would wake up at 5:30 every weekend morning, so I could wash, blow dry, and curly my hair with curlers. Then I'd spray on the Aquanet with the curlers in and once they were out. I also liked to put it back in different clips, banana clips, or even up in a French twist. Not to mention the 6 hours it took getting it professionally permed every 6 weeks.

I can't believe I ever put that kind of time into my hair! Now I'm so low maintenance and I think it looks tons better than it did in the big hair days. What was I thinking?

non-aerosol sprays, like hair glue and stiff stuff made it go straight up when used with the blow dryer in the right way. A CROWN PERM where only the crown was permed so it was big and curly, no need for hot rollers any more, just a round brush and spray. i really enjoyed all of those styles...lots of fun. i liked the hair glitter the best for clubs at night, and it stayed up just as well as the stiff stuff and the hair glue...

oh yeah how about spiral perms! i was in awe with that so impressed thought it was so new and so interesting when it came out. also that other thing, later on people used it for straightening in the 90's but in the 80's it was used to create this weird wave. don't remember what it was called. the straigh-haired people used it a lot.
