WHAT WAS THE FIRST GIG YOU EVER WENT TO?

Mine was 'The Boom Town Rats" in Newcastle city hall Uk. I was about 15yrs old. My cousin and I were only allowed to go on condition that we returned home immediately after the gig. BUT....an announcement was made after the show saying that if anyone wanted autographs, they should wait for 30 mins, the band would come out and sign them. We of course waited, we both had huge crushes on Bob Geldoff. I remember getting all tongue tied when I eventually met the band, Bob Gelfdoff signed my little pink autograph book and I told him I did Irish dancing (cringe!) He smiled and didnt say much (double cringe) then he gave me his half empty can of coke. I treasured it for years. It was a dream come true for my cousin and I to actually meet our heros in the flesh.
Yes, we got into so much trouble when we got home late but we didnt care, it was worth it and we boasted like hell to our friends at school the next day...they were all so impressed!

Johnny Cash. I was about four years old, and my parents couldn't find a babysitter, so they convinced the door to let me in with them (and, in all honesty, my parents were only there so they could drive MY GRANDPARENTS to the show...this was around 1978, after all). I barely remember any of it, just a really badass-looking motherfucker dressed in black on a mid-sized stage in Central Maine.
