Welcome. A New Earth is such a wonderful book, just read through and make sure you have a highlighter to mark your favorite quotes and ideas. ET and Oprah did that 10 part series that you can still watch I believe and I suggest that after each chapter you read then go watch the corresponding show. Each show is based on one chapter and it really helps to clarify and expand on his message. You can also download meditations by Kim English (ET's partner) on itunes or Oprah.com. When your done with this book you can move on to "The power of now" I have it on audio and it is an amazing book. I listen to it all the time in my car and at night when I'm falling asleep. I have it on my ipod. You can download all his work on itunes. I have a bunch of it and I love it.
Enjoy, your in for a real treat....

Hi all,
I am new to this group. I do belong to the "laws of attraction" group. Last night I was doing some youtube'ing and google'ing and came across eckhart tolle and oprah. So, I have bookmearked that site to re-visit. I also went to my local library and checked out " A New Earth"... and today, I find this group. Any suggestions on what to read or how to read this book?? What to really pay close attention to?? Anything???
THANKS

Hey...I'm new too! (To this group, not DS!) I did it the opposite, Louie, I read Power of Now last summer and then New Earth. I read right though PON, and it was life changing for me. Truly. A New EArth, I am almost done with, but I find I need to read say, a chapter, and then absorb it, mull it over...
The best thing about both of these books, (and Stillness Speaks is also a good book to keep around) is that when I start getting out of the Now, when events pile up and I begin to forget that which I know, I can usually pick up one or the other of the books, and open it to anywhere, and read a bit, and get recentered.
Glad to be part of this group. -

I am just starting to read Eckhart's fist book The Power Of Now. I started reading A New Earth and was following on Oprah but dial up was harsh and then I lent the book out and have yet to read it. My husband started reading The Power Of Now and wanted me to read it too! It's awesome! New to this Group...new to this site! -

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie to this group too! :)
I tried to watch the ET classes online thru Oprah.com, and there were too many distraction around me! UGH! LOL And on Oprah's website where one could chat or comment on the shows and such, too many were knocking him and his message down! It was quite a downer I thought! I tried to stay positive but decided to get out it, while I still felt good about it!
I know I can use this info that ET has brought us... When I had been reading the book I felt the info working thru/on me! It was amazing! :)
I'm glad I found a place thru here that I can correspond with others who were also inspired by it!
Am not finished with the book yet...not that you can really "finish" it! I believe it's an ongoing process... -

Hi, I am new here, too. I read A New Earth last year, and bought copies for my brother and my daughter, though I don't think they've read it yet. Their loss.
I am going to go back and read it now that I've found this group. And also the Power of Now. I am disabled, and practically housebound, so my thought processes/pain body issues are more introspective than expansive.

Hi lobeliapeppergrass!
I think it would be cool to start over with us newbies and go thru chapter by chapter, maybe each week, and have discussions on each of them! Would you be willing to do that? Or would anyone like to give comment on this idea??? :)
I could use it for sure!!!
I too have disabitities and am mostly housebound as well...
