Your Opponent is Yourself
Your opponent, in the end, is never really the player on the other side of the net, or the swimmer in the next lane, or the team on the other side of the field, or even the bar you must high-jump. Your opponent is yourself, your negative internal voices, your level of determination.

I just found this and thought it proper to post.

I know this to be true in my case but it's taken me 50 years to see it. Thank goodness for awakenings! -

You absolutely correct. Now that I see that I am able to challenge myself and put things in perspective. It's liberating and it takes some of the pressure upon myself. -

I was told I lack self-confidence. I thought about that statement for a few days. I'm a very confident person, but that little tidbit just boiled over in my mind. I knew that was a lie, but I seemed to not be confident from a lack of sleep, not from a lack of confidence. Hmmm. I allowed the internal voices to get to me for a few days, and then I woke up. I am not that confident lacking human! In fact, the opposite is true.
This is a test! -

How about "Your opponent is your Ego"? The source of your negative thinking most of the time. I was recently told that the memory of the mind is the source of the "Not-Good-Enough-Me", whereas when you drop your 'thinking' into your heart, you can connect with the "I-Am-Plenty-Me". Try it. -

Ric - I LOVE that - I felt something not quite true when I read this quote and couldn't put my finger on it. You just did. Thanks - -
