Quick Re-covery

Posted by MAK1AH - 12/30/12, 05:39 pm

Hi, and wishing you the best of health today as you try to remember that happiness comes from within, and is your best health food!

I just remembered my best re-covery item is a green drink. I have one every morning. It's 1 cup soy milk or carrot juice, 1 T chlorella, 2 T spirulina. 1/2 banana and 1 cup of mixed berries or other fruit such as mangoes or peaches. Green drinks fixed me up in 2 days. You can also add 3 oz of kale or collards or spinach to this. I also used to make my own fresh juice with peeled carrots and beets, celery and apples, all organic, equal parts of everything EXCEPT the beets, use a small amount of them, they are very powerful. I used this instead of soy milk or carrot juice.

If you went on a green drink diet for a couple of days, it would probably fix you up. I mean, not knowing what is going on, it's my best guess. Also, I drink kombucha, it helps the liver. And I do cof-fee enemas every morning, they really do change my state of health quickly and powerfully.

There is also the option of fasting on just water and kombucha (I put lemon juice andgin-ger juice in my kombucha) for a day or two. You can try this and see if it works for you. I've gone for 2 days without eating, just drinking, and it gives the liver a rest. If I wake up in the morning and I'm not hungry, I will fast. By the way, what most people observe as hunger is not hunger. The pains mid section, around the bottom of the ribs, is de-tox, not hunger. The liver is detoxing the body, and it causes some pains. If you eat, the liver stops dumping toxins and starts digesting food, and the pain goes away, so we think it's hunger pain, but it's not. True hunger, according to Dr Fuhrman, is felt in the throat.

Drink a lot of water! Distilled with minerals added or RO, not tap water. You need to drink 50 oz if you weigh 100 pounds, 1/2 oz per pound of body weight.

to read more about spirulina and chlorella and why they are such great re-covery foods, see this article:  http://chlorellafactor.com/ The doses above are on one of the pages, and are specifically for re-covery. The maintenance doses are 1/2 that.

Only use a really good product! I use Earthrise spirulina and Jarrow chlorella.

Living in Harmony

Posted by MAK1AH - 12/27/12, 03:27 pm

This is from the book, Herbs for Hepatitis C and the Liver, by Stephen Buhner.

Virologists have discovered that when a balanced symbiotic virus is disturbed it tends to jump species in order to survive. There are some 4000 mammal species on the earth, and 750,000 insect species. Of the mammal species, 2000 are rodents and 1000 are bats. That is 3/4 of the mammals in two families. Most viruses that jump species and infect people come from rodents, bats and primates.

This is truly interesting: there is a squirrel monkey in the Amazon who lives in peace with a herpes virus, it does not bother the monkey although it lives in the monkey. Even if the monkey's immune system is artificially suppressed, the virus will cause it no harm. This virus is in the feces and urine of this monkey, so it is liberally sprinkled everywhere in their territory. Now, if another competing monkey, such as the mormoset, tries to invade squirrel monkey territory, the virus jumps immediately. The marmoset monkey is infected and quickly develops lymph cancer and dies.

Epstein-Barr comes from rodents, Measles from wild cattle, smallpox from Mice. The AIDS virus and other emerging viruses are surviving the distruction of the rain forests becuse they can mutate faster than the changes in their environment.

Modern medicine is partially to blame for this epidemic, with blood transfusions, needles, surgeries and using monkeys for cruel experiments, all of which allow the transmission of diseases into humans. Then there was the immunization program carried out in Africa between 1955 and 1975. Many of the vaccines were made by using kidney cells from monkeys who have a symbiotic relationship with HIV. This inserted the virus into thousands of humans as they were vaccinated, and when they had sex they passed it along. Some African countries will lose half their population: everyone between the ages of 20 and 45.

Then there is the influence of human culture: Measles, for instance, requires a large city to remain viable. When people began living in cities, diseases such as the plague and smallpox spread like wildfire. Now we have international travel with airplanes and all places on earth are within 24 hours of each other. Other factors include technological medicine, monocropping of plants and animals (animal factories and stockyards). Life was never meant to live in such crowded and foul conditions.

For those who cannot do Tx, or for whom Tx is not an option, or for those for whom Tx has failed, there is hope. If we can see this virus as an ally, not an enemy, perhaps we can see a way to live with it in harmony. When viruses first enter a new species they are very aggressive and try to kill off the one they have invaded. But that which does not kill us makes us stronger. And viruses are a part of our ecosystem. Perhaps we can delve deeper into the implications here and see that HCV is our ally. If we can learn to live in harmony with it, we will be stronger for it, and it can no longer hurt us.

We cannot kill off viruses, this has been known for a long time, there is no cure for the common cold, which is caused by a virus. Some people get colds all the time and others never do, yet the virus is everywhere. So what makes the difference? The immune system. Keep the immune system strong and viruses cannot destroy you.

This is a group for learning natural ways, healthy recipes for healthy bodies! Nutritional support for the liver. This group is for people with Hep C, who are not on treatment and want to improve their health and take it easy on their liver. We can discuss any and all alternative options. For those who choose to do Tx and want to lessen the terrible effects of the drugs, we also offer support.

Love to all, Makiah

Turmeric - Antiviral, antihepatotoxic, stimulates interferon production, kills pathogens, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, antibacterial, antiparasitic, helps prevent platelet aggregation, relieves arthritis, skin conditions and allergies that accompany liver disease, increases HDL, reduces excess cholesterol in liver, stimulates bile, retards liver cancer formation and growth.

Dandelion - This is a wonderful herb for the liver. Like Hep C, it is a slow acting herb, and may take a month or more before you notice any effect. It's one of the best herbs for the liver, and works best in conjunction with other herbs, such as phyllanthus, silymarin, and turmeric.

I take a combo capsule that has milk thistle, phyllanthus and dandelion root. Before this I took one that had milk thistle, Picrorhiza, Curcumin,  Dandelion root, Beet root, alfalfa, artichoke, and ginger. I think it's a good idea to change formulas every 6-12 months or so.

Dandelion is reported to help remove obstructions in the liver , gall bladder and spleen.

The root is more for liver disease, high bilirubin levels, and to ease inflammation. The leaves are more for ascites, they are diuretic. Both the roots and leaves increase the flow of bile.

In the spring, the dandelions come up with regularity all over lawns. Don't spray them. Pick the biggest ones, dig down and get as much of the root as you can. Try to get roots that are about 1/2 inch in diameter. Wash the leaves and put into smoothies and salads. The roots will get bigger in the summer and fall. Wash the roots, peel them carefully. Then slice in half lengthwise and you'll discover a light brown woody tap root in the center. Pick it out with a knife and toss it in the compost or trash. Then cut the white root into tiny pieces. You can do several things with these: Put them into a smoothie. Marinate them in oil and vinegar and eat them. Simmer them gently in water for about 15 minutes in a covered pan and drink the resulting tea.

How To Make Herbal Tinctures

After picking your fresh herbs, pick through them and remove any dirty or damaged parts but don't wash them.

Coarsely chop stems, leaves and roots. You can leave flowers whole.

Put your herbs in a clean & dry glass jar and fill with the liquid of your choice. The herbs need to be completely immersed in liquid.

Cap the jar tightly with an airtight lid.

Label your creation with the ingredients and date and store in a dark place for 6-8 weeks, shaking occasionally.

Strain out the herbs and pour tincture into clean, dry bottles. Label with the date and ingredients used.

UNConventional treatments are for those who choose not to do Tx or can't do Tx or have done Tx and failed, and want to optimize their health. AVOID short term expensive treatments promising a cure, they can improve health, but none will eliminate the virus as far as we know. .... If you're young, healthy, and feel treatment will get rid of the virus, there are complementary treatments that help Tx work better.
