  First off the usage of any site is always down in the summer. Second and this is a strong point, as a Founder it is not up to me to carry it along. That is where the members come in. I have other ways to educate myself. So if anyone wants more of a group, then get busy and add more, post more, etc.....

  I come here often. I feel bad. I was in two other groups- "Adopting the foster child" and "adoptive parents" and initially found people I could totally relate to and found much blessed support. After all, this is why I joined DS in the first place. But both of those groups have fallen by the way side due to inactivity. And all of the friends I made from those two groups are gone. I don't think there are many A-parents here in this group, or in the adoption group anymore. Most of them are new to the group and looking into adoption for the first time. I have a lot of "new" friends seeking advice from me, which I am only too happy to give, but again, mostly questions about how I felt or the process. I would really love to hook up with a few more people who adopted children with issues so that we can support each other. In that same vein, I welcome advice from adoptees as well. So I haven't given up yet.
  
  I still, believe it or not, check out the other groups once in a while to see if anyone posts. I guess now, after months of no new posts, I should just not bother and delete them.
  
  I also think that people come here to deal with the situation/crisis at hand, and then change to other things. I know that when I intiially came to DS, I was desperate for help with my son. Now, I am personally focused on weight loss, and spend a lot more of my time and energy there. It has been wonderful to meet someone in one group, only to find that they are also in other groups you have joined.
  
  Anyway, I am still here and still check in.

  I still check in. But not as much as I'd like. Very busy with personal stuff this summer.

This is a friendly healing place to learn about all three sides of the adoption experience. Birth Mother, Adopted Child and Adoptive Parents. Here we can share stories, hurt and joy! Plus for those who are dealing with adoption searches this site can provide support as well. This group is a place to start or an additional help. We only ask to join us with love and caring!
