Does Lexapro really kill your sex drive?

I was worried about this side affect because part of the reason I went off the Pill in the first place was decreased libido. But I am happy to report that not only is my sex drive better than it was, but my climaxes are far more intense than they used to be. Overall, I am really pleased with the results!

Apparently the only anti depressents that help PMDD are SSRI's. which is what lexapro happens to be. and most of them kill your sex drive. i'm surprised that it's helping your with your sex drive. i stopped taking it because i had NO sex drive but now i'm going to have to deal with side effects because if an SSRI is what will help me, then i have to be on one. i am thinking of trying Prozac or Paxil since they were recommeded for PMDD as well. Going to the doctor today. wish me luck! -

I'm surprised too that your sex drive wasn't affected by the lexapro. I was on it for only about two months and then I went off of it because even though it did seem to help with the feelings of depression it completely eliminated my sex drive so I had no interest at all and couldn't climax even when I wanted to. I told my doctor being less depressed but still having other PMDD symptoms wasn't worth trading for my sex life. -

Yeah it seems to go on and off for me, there are days when I am really not interested, and then there are days when I could do it several times in a row before I am satisfied. Having trouble climaxing has been weird; I can't seem to do it as easily externally, but internally its really quick! I don't know, we'll see what happens after I have been on it a while longer. -

Hi everyone.
I am taking Lexapro and it is killing my sex drive,i am just coming into the week before my period today and its hell all i want to do is sleep and cry, lexapro eases symptoms but does not take them away completely. lack of sex drive is making me feel more abnormal then i usually feel at this part of the month. -
