Blog Intro: Notes from a Doctor's Practice
Posted in Accidents by Dr. Sharon Orrange on Mar 30, 2008

For almost three years you have seen my posts in many communities and I have been able to jump in to discussions when possible. Well, because Dailystrength has grown we are trying a new format to reach as many of you as we can: "Notes from a Doctor's Practice" will be my new blog.

I plan on covering important news in medicine, new study results, new medications and general adult medicine topics pertinent to all of you. I will also use some of your messages as a springboard for blogs. I didn't realize how satisfying it would be to research my topics, dig through journals and think about what our DS members want to read from a practicing Internal Medicine doc.

So it's official: I am now a Physician, Professor, mom, wife, daughter, and a blogger. My hope is that you enjoy my entries and learn something at the same time.

Dr O.

Dr. O
I have had Fibromyagia for a very long time now but. I might add it only took me down for two full years I was able to get it in remission about 8 years ago. At that time I dove right back into fulltime employment, maintained a household and babysat almost full time for my grandson. While my marriage was history and we both knew it, I loved the fullfillment of my life. I was forever busy doing something. A little over four years ago I had a winter accident leaving me unconcious and with several injuries including an acquired brain injury, this is one real battle but the fibro is and has been in full flare up since the accident. The lawyers and Insurance Company are not helping, meaning one specialist after another. I am now on 200mg of Lyrica a day as I cannot take any narcotic medication at due to serious side effects. Can you tell me is there anything new on the market that helps people with fibro?

When will DS start validating Neuropathy and/or Autonomic problems as a medical topic and create a group of it's own, where we will actually be easily found in a "search" under medical topics and/or without having to search through 20+ random pages - only being able to find it if you click on a link called "create your own group". www.dailystrength.org/groups/Neuro...

Dr. Orrange,

I may have thought that you gave opinions or advice to patients that read and write on this Sarcoidosis Support Group only with Daily Strength website. If you go over all these various support groups listed above then you are busy alot of the time. Anyway I wrote a summary about my health issues and request your comments or advice on that Advice portion with Sarcoidosis Support Group on April 9, 2008 and as of today you never responded. Please read over this when you have time though, I'll get back later tomorrow or this weekend.

What a nice twist! I only joined this site three days ago and I'm already feeling like it is one of the best I've seen yet! It is exciting to have a practicing internist participating as well! Thank you for your time and interest here. I know you will most likely hear from me again!
