" don't know if it is Wilson's. At 16, my son was told he might have it. He is now 18. He has restless leg syndrome which is uncommon in young people. He had an agenr problem but went through therapy and handles it. The way the doctor put it to us is that if Wilson's is not diagnosed and treated properly, one can die before they are 30. First, it can attack your liver and cause cirrhossis. Second, it can attack your brain, shrink it and cause serious mental problems before you die. The doctor told my son he would know the difference and if he felt it, he should seek medical help immediately. Now, the key words are diagnosed properly and treated. He has had blook tests twice, a year apart and they remain the same. He has a high copper level. Wilson's usually is due to a low copper level. I might note that he had symtoms for years prior to this doctor looking at a diagnosis. I don't know why you think you might have Wilson's, but you need a neurologist that knows the disease and can properly diagnose and treat it. It oculd be somthing else. You mention blacking out and hurting your gf?...that is scary and certainly should be investigated. There is a diet that you can follow to avoid the copper. Wilson's means your body does not have the enzymes to process the copper. Good luck and follow up on getting to the right doctor. You are young and want to live a long life. "
