  • The Warrior's Song

    Friday, December 26, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

When things go wrong as they often do,
(Over & over again, it's true.)
    It's hard to keep your chin up high;
Much easier to lay down and die.
    -
But giving up s'not the thing to do
For it helps no one, not even you.
Retreat if you must to lick your wounds,
Take the time you need to find your tune.
    -
Then singing your song, loud & clear...
Return to fight for what you ho...

  • On an ordinary Monday morning.

    Thursday, August 6, 2009 | A Poem/Artistic story

    Richard
How can it be that we were parted
    On an ordinary Monday morning?
You walked out in your workman blue,
    Thermos full of coffee,
Ready to toil for another week.
But just one sip from your cup
And your brave heart stopped beating
    And you left me.
You were a man of such simple pleasures –
    You never asked for much
And you never put yourself first.
    And I loved you.
    I wanted to enjoy these...

  • How Many...?

    Friday, August 15, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

The dark cloud is not quite so dark anymore but the sun hasn't come back out, so to speak, in my heart yet.  But I keep hoping... and while I wait, I think and then I write, and this is what came out today.  It helps me and I'm hoping maybe it helps someone else along the way.
How many times can I say that I love you?
How many times can I wish you were here?
    How can it b...

  • Why?

    Tuesday, November 10, 2009 | A Poem/Artistic story

    Why are you
    in the damp cold earth
    my darling?
You should be here with me
    beside the fire.
    Why are you
    silent and alone
    my darling?
You should be here with me
    in my arms.
    Why are you
    so far away
    my darling?
    I need you now,
    here,
    with me.

  • Friendship In Our Time Of Need...

    Monday, August 25, 2008 | A Poem/Artistic story

To all of those who share and care about the loved ones that we've all lost...
For all of us to remember them with all of the love in our hearts.
The tears that quench our sadness
    For all that used to be;
    The aching in our hearts
That no one else can see.
The pain that doesn't go away
    For months, it lingers on,
    Throbbing to remind us
Of our loved ones who have gone
Onto a place so far away
    Tha...

  • A message to my Beloved

    Thursday, June 25, 2009 | A Poem/Artistic story

    I Sit here alone
I sit here and think of you remembering our special moments
A smile escapes upon my lips as you lean in for that sweet kiss that leaves me breathless as it always did.
Those rides in the wind on your toy and best friend where we laughed and we cried and sometimes just sighed left us giggling from the delight of such a beautiful sight.
Now I sit here alone wrenched in pain lonely and ...

  • Abou Ben Adhem

    Friday, January 2, 2009

Abou ben Adam (may his tribe increase!)
awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight of his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
an angel, writing in a book of of gold.
    *
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adam bold,
And to the Prescence in the room he said:
"What writest thou?" The vision raised its head,
And, with a look made of all sweet accord,
    Answered, &quo...

  • Death is Nothing at All

    Thursday, August 20, 2009 | A Poem/Artistic story

    Death is Nothing at All
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
    That we are still
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way you always used
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
    Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we always enjoyed togeather
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
    Let my ...
