Hi everyone, my name is Kristina Gleason, and i am 17 years old, a senior in high school, and am struggling with my weight.
Two summers ago, i weighed around 145, although i could have been skinner, i felt more comfortable than i do now. I am 5'6 1/2" tall, and now i weigh 184 pounds, (just checked) I feel sad sometimes, because of all the hate i get because of how big i am. Although i don't look that big, because of my frame is larger boned, and i am muscle. I just am struggling with my stomach, and thighs, and a slight double chin. I really am trying to eat healthier, its just really hard when all of the food in my house is like available, and sometimes i like to eat out of bordeom, and i have a weakness for country food, and italian food. I would really get back down to the 140's by summer time, as it would make me feel totally confident. It's just i have NO idea, where to start. I'm picky, as i dont really like salad, or spinach or cabbage. however i love pea, greenbeans, carrots, and that kind of stuff. I also don't know how to exercise correctly, i figured i could do situps every night, and run in place? because of me living in the country, there is no where to run. Please help me get up the motivation, as i procrastinate a lot, and help me try to get healthier. Thanks a lot. Kristina. Posted on 02/12/09, 03:02 pm |

no where to run in the country?
fields are magnificant for running in! start in a fair sized field and try and run around it, youll see yourself getting fitter the more laps of the field you can do :) its brilliant! only you can help with motivation, and any healthy food is great! and sit ups will help with toning your tummy if thats a problem :)

I'd be glad to help, (:
The sit ups are great for your stomach, yes, for your thighs you should start doing 20 squats a day, 10 in the morning 10 in the afternoon, I know it hurts like a bitch, but it really pays off and you can start doing more, another good thing for the legs is to lay down on your side, supporting your head on your hand, with your elbow on the ground, and the leg closest to the ground gets bent back, and you lift the top leg 10 times to start out then you can progress to 20, also, doing lunges is great. as for the appetite, whenever you feel hungry, drink REALLY REALLY cold water, it helps curb the cravings, foods like carrots and celery, (without dressing) are almost entirely water, so theres no calories, so you don't digest them, so they put no weight on you at all. I know what you mean about no where to run, I live in Suburbian hell, and Wal Mart, is like 20 miles away, you can't get anywhere walking, or running. The double-chin isn't something you can just reduce, you have to lose a lot of the weight, for the chin and neck area to tighten up. After about a week of the excercising every day you will feel completely burnt out, and you ass and the back of your legs will hurt really bad, but it's important that you don't stop because of this, because if you stop just for one day, it's really hard to keep doing it and to commit. Doing this, and eating healthy, I've lost 15 lbs in one month, so i know if you can commit yourself to it, it will work.
