Do you think that abortion or gay rights should be a part of any political platform? Why?

Would you make a decision to vote for or against a candidate based on either issue? Why?

" No.. Because I believe in separation of church and state. I believe both issues are religion based. "

" Rather, if they were included in a candidates stand, would it sway your vote? "

" In my case I would definitely want to vote against someone who was running on a ban abortion platform, and also against someone who wanted to ban gay marriage (gay marriage is legal here), and if I lived in a State where a politician was campaigning to bring in equality (for gays) then I would vote for him/her on that basis...so I guess you could say I'd vote against anything religiously based, so it would affect my decision. " I think people will always mix their religion with politics. They have to if they are principled. Since I lean libertarian, I never vote on those issues. I care about them, but I never make them my litmus test. I don't care if a candidate is for or against them. I always vote based on fiscal and security issues. Those issues seem more in the government purview to me than who sleeps with who, and what a woman decides to do with her uterus. "

" There are places where there are seperate court systems, for matters considered religious and those that are not. Do you think that our Constitution makes that impossible here? Should rights guaranteed under the Constitution be applied to religious rights other than as it is stated? Should questions that have a basis in religion be translated in to simple legal questions and have civil law applied as it would be to any other matter? "
