I agree faithful, unfortunately, there are those who have not studied and don't care about the owner's manual.

my exs was quite proud that he was unencumbered by a conscience, he saw people who had one as weak and inferior

If I didn't dislike people like that so much, I could feel sorry for them.....

we have free will and a fantastic ability to weave mental webs. but, those are elaborate tricks to fool people with and sometimes drive ourselves crazy if we start buying into our own lies.
our consciences are writing it all down and someday it will hit each of us like a ton of bricks. underneath it all, whether we like it or not, there is reality and it isn't going any place.

what more do you want? we finally got the hell out of Iraq, the Afghan War is scaled down, we got national health care, and are creating lots of jobs.
compared to the catastrophe that George W left us with, i think that we are not doing badly at all.

"what more do you want? we finally got the hell out of Iraq, the Afghan War is scaled down, we got national health care, and are creating lots of jobs."
We did get out of Iraq and thanks to us for having gone there things are more unstable than they have ever been...The mission was never well defined, very poorly politically executed and IMO, never finished. The Afgan war has not been scaled down much....there is still much debate on what we are doing there. Clinton apologizedto Pakistan so we can use their borders again for supply lines. I would say that, to me at least the same comments I made about Iraq could apply to the Afgan War. Egyt, Libia, Syria, Jordan and Palestine are still in a daily uproar and the whole region is going the way of the "eve of Destruction." We are not creating lots of jobs, but we are creating lots of spin. The numbers are being played with for political purposes. We are creating fewer jobs than any time since FDR. We are just not counting all of the unemployed. Finally my good friend, there are good things and bad things about the healthcare problem. We do not have national health care. We have the feds trying to enfore a health care solution that still has a long way to go to win the acceptance of over half the states in the union. As an aside, we now also have the worst racial and economic class warfare partisan rhetoric going on than I can remember in my lifetime. I do not blame liberals or conservatives. I blame us for having let it get this far. It is a problem for all of us and IMO the solution can only come from public dialogue and the will to act.

I suspect the mission was extremely well defined, well executed and was never intended to be finished. The thing is, the public wasnt told whatr the real mission was, or told how many mercs are now occupying and controlling the region for the benefit of corporate interests and control.influence over oil. I think in those terms, it was a bloody big success.

There is a very big possibility that you are right on.
Bush senior in my mind was right.....after that it was about oil and prestige....I never like the mercs. They inhabit very muddy water and belong on the bottom as scavengers. I don't really know if the end game was played....
