i haven't been following it closely. tell me about the russian ships thing.

those people had better get up to speed because no one is going to go in there and do it for them. it is too sad to watch very much and the media acts like we should all be fired up about it.

what people need to get up to speed - the government's been slaughtering civilians and no one's lifted a finger as yet because of roadblocks at the UN

Roadblocks at the UN!!!!!!!!!!!! They must get their act together and I feel is not the sole responsibility of the US. Drone attacks of some sort but absolutely no troops. It is time for other countries especially the UN not to feel the US is going to take over.

this is a syrian civil war. it is the job of the syrian people to either rise to the occasion or get killed. the UN might be able to exert pressure. but, the US has to keep itself sidelined for the most part because we do not have the money to help.

remember, the entire Iraq and Afghanistan wars have been financed on credit. We did not have the money to go to war but like idiots we put in on the credit card.

the US has to realize that it cannot financially afford war any more and this includes expensive military gifts to help the syrians. the right wing hawks have to be told the facts of life. they have to retire their swords and guns.

the media might as well chill out because we americans have to think of our priorities.

Hmm well I would ask the same of Canada and every other country.

who said anything about the US specifically - I brought up roadblocks at the UN - a world body. Canada led the Libyan mission, and this seems worse in terms of the killing of civilians.

at what point? when the credit card is maxed out and a plan to pay it off is not in place.

I don't understand why the other Arab countries or Islamic peoples continue to allow the kind of killinf we are seeing in Syria. This is a situation like others in the region for which there should be local diplomatic solutions.....we are not the arbiters of every civil dispute in all countries and I am glad many are recognizing this.
