" Darn...It seems like everything I do these days has to be of concern to me because no matter what I'm doing, the federal government is somehow involved.....I don't know about others, but I'm getting really fed (no pun intended) up with the whole big brother thing.... "

" ive worked pretty damn hard over the last year or two to grt off most of my expensive drugs
and using supplements has been an integral and effective part of that for me
the last thing i need is big pharma using the fda (or being the fda) to make that near impossible "

" Instead of taking (the easy way) man made vitamins eat the real stuff plain and simple. Of course you probably should just grow and raise everything yourself to make sure it isn't supplementedly pumped. "

" BoomerBabe

absolutely right. I'm not able to grow my own food in a condo, hoiwever, and I'm not sure I could even grow enough and store it to feed me over the winter (I'm in Canada).

But I often have thought about how wonderful that would be.

As it is, I do my best to eat mostly raw food. That plus the supplements I DO take have, as I said, helped me heal my body a LOT in the last year. In fact I'm off most of the meds I was on, and I hope in another year to be off them completely.

do you take any? "

" I did read them, and I'm still interested in all the info all of the contributors shared in the documentary...not the filmmaker or what 10 companies the FDA sent warning letters to.

thats all

I'm interested in the truck load of things the contributors were saying, particularly about the supplements, but all the rest too. "

" Okay - two things:

1. The FDA has been getting "paid off" for a very long time - for approving certain food products and drugs.

"Equal" - the artificial sweetener that was/is not at all good for people - was approved by a group that was also on the board of the company that produced Equal. There was suddenly a rumor running around that Sweet N Low caused cancer and Equal became the sweetener of choice. That was back in the 1980's.

2. Talk about vitamins requiring prescriptions has also been around for a long time but it hasn't happened.

According to the last cycle of concern about vitamins - it was the doctors who wanted to limit access to vitamins so that their patients would be less healthy and would require their services more often. That was some years ago and the vitamins that I take daily are still available.

I don't know - but there doesn't seem to be much new to be upset about at this point. "

" It used to be thought that no one could take too much Vit C (or other water soluble vitamins)....not so anymore. The supplement industry has tried to say that more and more and more is better.

There's a saying "the poison is in the dose". Even too much water can kill you. So can too much salt, or most any vitamin. Yet too little can kill you too. "
