I wrote this sometime ago but have decided to share it with all members I was in the Army for 20 years. I hope it can make people understand how some of us feel PTSD does not only affect soldiers but many more others as well. Being old is true freedom (i love this poem)
As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying something silly that I didn't need. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be silly or eccentric.

Everybody has down periods from time to time even somebody working on developing a positive attitude like me. The key thing is that there for you when you are up against it.
Recently I have been suffereing with lack of sleep. I seem to wake up at 5 AM everyday at the moment for no apparent reason.

Angels sing in me.

I carry a pad and pencil everywhere,
