Hi. I haven't commented on anyone's post, yet. And, I have no advice to offer. I go for my first laser surgery this Thursday, and I'm getting pretty nervous. When is your surgery scheduled? Maybe I can let you know before your surgery how it goes.

Mine is scheduled for 18th sept so if you feel up to I would love to hear from you. I will be thinking of you. Are you having a GA to? I am being admitted for one night.

Since I don't know what GA is, I guess not???? I am going in for a day surgery. I am also having a hysterectomy in October sometime, which I am excited about. But honestly, this one scares me. I have had 2 c-sections, so I know what that incision is like, but, I've never had anything "there" . :(

General anethesia! I had a hysterectomy about 10 yrs ago and I am more worried about this. I am scared the biopsies will show up more than vin3!

Lol!! Yes!!! I am having GA!!! That was a very important question I asked. That was one of my main concerns, since I had my biopsy in my gyn office with a local!!!! Very painful, sore afterwards, but not too bad. Didn't they do biopsies to diagnose you with vin? I am having my surgery on Thursday and my doc told me if I worked I would be able to go back on Monday. But, from all the things I've read from other people that have had it done, it seems to me that it may be a little longer. I have found some posts on hyster sisters about it. There's not really much out there. I did buy a book on Amazon, but they were mainly talking about case studies and alternate things you could do. I will tell you this. I am an LPN and used to work in the gyn's office that did my biopsy. We used to do vaginal biopsies with only a spray anesthetic. The ladies didn't seem to hurt too bad with it. I would think the vulvar area would be the one to give you the most post op pain. Not sure about that, but, it would seem so to me, based on the amount of pain with the biopsies. Sorry I am so talkative. I can't sleep much, and I'm getting a little nervous. How old are you? I am 40. Was your hyst done for cervical dysplasia?

I had a couple of biopsies and diagnosed vin3. Under GA I had a wide local excision bur no clear margins and tissue showed extensive vin3 still. Sent to onc gyn who did further colposcopy. They then said I need lots of laser and would do more biopsies at that time when asleep! I was told to expect 3-4 weeks off work (not days). I have lots of areas I understand!
I had my hysterectomy for cin and endometriosis when I was 40.

Well, the drs office called and moved my surgery time up tomorrow, which is good. But I'm out doing last minute shopping anid stuff and all I want to do is cry.
I have endometriosis too.
I'm sure it is very frustrating for you to have to do this several times. Unfortunately, from everything I've read it seems ro recur more often than not. How long ago was your last surgery? It seems to me that would be harder to heal from.?
I am seeing a gyn onc also. Have they told you to get a sitz bath and instant ocean, too?
Good to hear from you. It seems that no one else knows what I am going through. And I find myself trying to isolate myself. :( I'm scared.

Yes sitz bath and I have a blow up ring to sit on. That helped driving back from surgery in April. I had surgery this April and a out 10 years ago but this is now worse and I think more advanced.

Hey. I am on my way home. Been at the hospital all day. Didn't end up going down until after 2pm. Surgery time was suppose to be at 12. :( pain scale a 7 when I woke up. Took iv pain med and oral. Helped greatly. Was worried about going to the bathroom, but they put silvadene cream on before I got out of surgery and it really didn't hurt much :). I've hurt a few times. Took pain pill 30 min early. I got a hot/cold pack thing at walgreens. It has little beads in it so it conforms to your body. :). Haven't looked at her yet. Will let you know as I go.

Surgery over .. Had 3 areas lasered and 2 biopsies. Will await results! I had a long lasting numbing injection so managed the 5 hr car drive home only stopping twice to be sick! Went to bed and slept pretty well. Now waiting for inj to wear off!
