From the looks of that avatar (if it is really you) and it says you are only 19, so it might just be baby fat and nothing else.
Most teens do want to grow up too fast - but baby fat looks nice on most people and our society just picks on young people. Hilary Duff was teased about her baby fat and she went onto a hard diet and she did lose weight but she lost a lot of her beauty too by believing the teasers. I do not know if you were born and raised as a vegan, but usually baby fat comes from a mother feeding the baby lots of milk for as long as she can and the child then looks cute and healthy for all to see. Do not know your life so I am just giving my guess as I understand things.

well... vegans can still eat potato chips, pasta, cakes, cookies, etc. that's pretty explanatory right there.
personally i have bipolar and C-PTSD. all of the chemicals created by depression, trauma and stress make my body hold onto fat easier, disrupts my body's ability to regulate it's weight, disrupts the thyroid system, slows down my metabolism incredibly, etc. I've tried diets, i've done exercise, both at once, of course. I tried raw foodism, i tried pills... the only time i've lost weight in my entire life was when i starved myself which i battle with myself every day not to do again.

personally, I dont think people who are fat have an excuse. maybe chubby, but not fat.
if a person is eating right and excersizing they can adjust there body and put it in balance. but ask hlks for advice, Im sure she can help you more.

One thing that I think a lot of people dont realize when they go vegan is that you still have to look out for sugars. I try to eat my fruits in the morning and during the day and save the vegetables for night so hopefully I have time to burn off the sugar. And HLKS is right about the junk food and sweets. It seems to be easier to justify that stuff sometimes when you're vegan because you figure you're eating healthier overall, but if you're having a big bag of chips or half a cake a day, the fact that they're vegan won't help.
Also, regardless of what your diet is, exercise is one of the most important things for keeping your weight under control. Just walking a mile a day if you usually get no exercise at all is an improvement. People always want to say that you can eat right and not exercise, and I haven't found that to be true at all. AND the size of your dinner can also play a huge role. I find that my body responds well weight-wise if I eat my larger meal during the day and something lighter for dinner. Or, you could go for a walk after dinner to help your body start burning calories.

Muscle burns more calories than fat - building and keeping muscle is important, as is raising metabolism through some exercise...
I like walking, swimming, yoga, and I'm thinking about adding some stairmaster routine - hiking is also great, especially with a heavy backpack - hiking 2 hours in the mountains can burn 800 calories.

please don't take what dieing said to heart... he seems to only be out to make people feel bad. Trust me.. I exercised my ass off (not literally obviously.. though i wish!) and ate exactly as the nutritionist told me too.. i even went to a raw food diet for a while.. there are MANY diseases and disorders that can throw your weight out of whack not to mention your NATURAL shape and size. Two women can eat the same, exercise the same, be the same height, and STILL be completely different sizes.

thankgonna start getting out there s you so much for your replies! im seriously gonna get out there and start working out...im thinking about starting little by little though...like instead of taking the car im gonna walk or bike....stuff like that and then work my way up.
and yeah, booky, thats me...and maybe it is baby fat...but this baby fat isnt getting me anywhere in life...and its starting to destroy how i feel about myself. even if i do start to accept my body...people will never accept me. or at least thats how i feel. cuz thats how they treat me.

I agree with the other advice on here about taking care of your body by eating the right vegan foods and being more active. But make sure you look at it as TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY. not exercising or dieting. These concepts are bad for your self esteem!
Also don't feel like people won't accept you because of your body. It simply isn't true. Some people may be idiots and won't be able to see beyond the exterior, but many people won't care at all! I know I dont! It's most important that you feel good about yourself. Of course knowing you're taking care of your body (even if this just means a 20 minute walk and some fresh fruit) will make you more confident and people notice that! Love yourself and your body. Think of it as your vessel for life. Thank if for everything it does for you and don't mistreat it physically or emotionally. :)

When I first went vegan I gained about 5 pounds and when I was at my smallest I ate meat. Being vegan or vegetarian does not automatically mean you're making healthy food and exercise choices, which seems to be a common misconception.
I dropped the weight through a combination of exercise and slightly reduced calorie intake. From what I've seen, if you focus on making your diet more healthy and add in some exercise, you should start dropping weight. If you can, try to do some weights too, because that will create more muscle to burn fat. The only downside to doing weights is that if you're focused strictly on the numbers on the scale, you might get discouraged as muscle weighs more...so while you're losing fat, you might not weigh less.
