" My husband and I have been together for 13 years an the reason we decide on a vasectomy is we are done having children (three is a good number for us) I dont like taking any more medication then I have to an I always forgot the pill any ways lol.... and I hate condoms they make me itch and feel awful. But this for us was a mutual decision I dont know why other married people do it but this worked for us : ) "

" It's an easy, cheap and safe way of definitive contraception when you both are sure never wanting kids anymore. It takes only 20 minutes and goodbye pills, condoms and fear. It's the reason why we choose for it 18 years ago. "

" I had a vasectomy because my family was big enough. It was cheaper for me to do it than my wife at the time. I guess she should have got fixed though. "

" My wife and I had complications during her delivery and it pretty much scared us into getting a vasectomy. We both were in agreement before that 1 child was a good number. We love our son so much both of us talk about a "small piece" of us wants another one, but before the Vas. we decided we would adopt if the urge became strong enough. "

" If the question is should the man or woman do it, not only is it less expensive for a man, it is also much less invasive surgery. Even with the small instuments used today, the surgeon still has to cut through all the abdominal muscles and the abdominal wall to get to the fallopian tubes. OUCH!! And more risk of infection. "

" I had a vasectomy because the family was large enough. My wife and I just had our third child and we're done. Blood clots runs in her family so the pill and IUDs are out. So we agreed that i would get it done because it is MUCH safer and easier for me than it is for her. "
