You are very young... I wouldn't worry. Sounds like your doctor is being cautious. What prompted this biopsy?
Hope all goes well..... Keep in touch

Sorry, this got shortened by the kids.
So, I've had a history of endometriosis and a few ovarian cysts removed. Recently, I was on my period for 30 days straight. When it finally ended, they did an u/s and found another cyst on one of my overies, and that my uterine linning was measuring on the thick side. Shortly after that, I started to have bad cramps (even though it was only a week after my period had ended) and intercourse became extremely painful. Now, I spend the bulk of my day w/ a heating pad on my pelvis and my hubby and I can't even dream of sex. I go in Friday for another appt and to schedule the biopsy (been treated by my family dr until now).

I'm 32 and was recently (about 2 weeks ago), diagnosed with a pre-cancerous uterus. I hope everything goes well for you - and if you need a friend, I'm happy to lend an ear.

Absolutely, happy to share.
I have a history of PCOS and have always had very irregular periods. I would get maybe one or two periods a year and then they would be so heavy and last for at least 2 weeks. Well, then things started to change and I just didn't feel like everything was normal (normal for me, that is). I had constant cramps, I felt bloated, I would be bleeding 2 days on, one day off, 1 day on, 2 days off etc. You can imagine what that did to my energy levels. I would have an uncomfortable feeling during intercourse, and bleed every time (poor hubby!). My local doctor sent me off for an ultrasound and this raised the suspicion of endometrial hyperplasia or a intra-cavity polyp (my endometrium measured 13mm and showed cystic spaces). Off to the gynaecologist, who booked me in for a D&C, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. Unfortunately, the way the health system works, it took me 9 months to have this surgery. Surgery was on the 14th of September, and I have since learned that I have complex endometrial hyperplasia. I have two options. One is to have high dose progesterone and have biopsies every 3 to 6 months to check how I am responding to treatment. The other is to have a hysterectomy. At the moment, I am trying the progesterone path in hope that it will allow me to have children in the future. My gynae said if I wasn't so young then she would opt for the hysterectomy. With treatment, she stated that I have a 1 in 3 chance of still getting cancer, but without I have about a 98% chance. 1 in 3 gives me some hope, so hope it is! I started the progesterone two weeks ago and seem to be tolerating it pretty well. I had some mad mood swings in the first week, but I seem to be more under control this week! I'm seeing a new gynae on the 24th of November as I wasn't a big fan of the original one. It's at least one way I can have some control over what is happening.

wombatkel - there is another free web site hystersisters where there are many that are taking progesterone in hopes of having kids - hope its okay for me to post another web site. You would go to the cancer discussions.
ekcutshall - you are lucky to have a doctor that is progressive. I was in my mid 40's with no risk factors so had to beg for a biopsy after many ultrasounds came back with a thick lining. I tried the progesterone cause the 1st biopsy came back complex hyperplasia and did not tolerate it well. The second biopsy, a few weeks later, showed early cancer so did the hysterectomy. There cells in the wash so I ended up doing megace (progesterone) for 6 months and suprisingly this time had no problems. There are different types of progesterone you can use so if you have problems with one, ask for another.

Thank you Katherinez. I will definitely check out the site you have posted.
As for your comment re progesterone - I had difficulties with one type a while back (just to stimulate a period) so this time I'm on a different type and seem to be doing really well on it. Mostly.

Thanks Katherinez, I will check that out.
So, I had an u/s yesterday and it showed that my left overy was enlarged and had a cysts on it, and my linning is now measuring 12.1. I was only able to see the NP (dr appt on Mon) and she think that I'll probabably need a lap w/ a dnc and biopsy. The u/s tech also mentioned that she can't belive no one has mentioned removing my left ovary (b/c it get's so many cysts). I'm basically numb now....

ekutshall - do you have polycystic ovaries, or just cysty ovaries? I have PCOS and my ovaries showed 50+ cysts on each ovary.
I think feeling numb is the worst. At least if you're sad you can cry, or if you're angry you can yell at something or someone. There's just nothing to do with numb. Just be kind to yourself. Good luck for your appt on Monday. Having a lap, D&C and biopsy sounds like the best next step for you (IMHO). At least then you know what you're going to be dealing with. Keep us updated.
