" I don't know what "PCOS" is, but I went into "instant menopause" after my uterine cancer hyst. The main thing I experienced were very heavy duty hot flashes that almost knocked me down. My cancer "liked" hormones, so I was unable to have the hormone treatments normally prescribed for menopause. I was under a shrink's care, however, and found that antidepressant and anti-anxiety meds helped me cope with the whole experience. Not fun. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Best wishes. "

" My gynocologist was prescribing bioidentical hormones for me until my oncologist said no. The hormones were great - my skin looked youthful and I felt great. Now that I can't take them anymore, I am noticing a big difference in my facial skin tone and texture. I have had to correct this with expensive skin products. I haven't really had any other symptoms. I can tell a difference in symptoms if I don't eat red meat at least once a week - it is supposed to have estrogen from the hormones that the cows are fed - but I don't know if this is advisable or not. I can't really tell if I have hot flashes or not - I'm always hot. As the other member replied, I am on antidepressant and anti-anxiety meds and I seem to be functioning pretty well. I believe it's a good idea to see a therapist after this type of disease anyway. It's really helping me deal with everything. "

" I also had a hysterextomy for uterine Ca and have found the Hotflashes to be unbelievable. I started accupressure (using pressure points instead of needles) and have found it somewhat helpful. But, the center has given me plenty of very helpful advice; know what triggers your hotflashes and avoid them! I found that eating meat causes a hotflash in about 45 min. And a "loss of temper" triggers one immediately. I discovered my "triggers" by doing a daily log for a week. Hope this helps. imsb1 "
