Hi. So, I have a question that I feel can really only be answered by y'll who know. I am a female and very thin and athletic- size 00- 5'6" 105 lbs. Anyway, so my question, I was wondering if any of the children's "nightime" products would work. I am obviously taller, but in terms of waist and weight, older kids may weigh as much. I don't need them all the time. For a while there have been light leakage but nothing to saturate any pants at all. I would just wear a panty liner. Then like after sitting for long period of time and standing more urine would just come out- enough to saturate a pad and underwear. It is now occurring more often and can include much more. After 2 more public incidents I bought some thicker pads designed for incontinence. I wear those. Most days I can put one on in the am and wear it all day. it will be wet from the small leaks but most of the time that is all. However, it is for the small percentage of times, which seem to have been up there this week where that was inadequate. The otherday was my day off and I was cooking suddently was having a bowel movement. I was home so I could remedy it quickly, but it freaked me out and made me paranoid on top of Monday. Monday, I was at work, and bc I wear the pad it is sometimes hard to tell how much I have gone, esp when I am engaged in my work I often don't notice. It is also the type of job where I can't just get up and leave when I feel I need to. So, the pad was inadequate. I got up after doing my work and I realized I must have leaked a lot. I fortunately had a long lab coat on so it covered it and i was able to change the pad but kinda had to air dry and just have my lab coat hide things. So, like I don't think I need anything to hold tons, but like enough for 1 significant accident. I was wondering if the kids ones would ftn. I think the adult ones would be too big and bulky for my size and body type, but i wasn't sure if they would serve the purpose. I really just want it when I am away in public in case... when I am home I am ok wth a pad and if I have an accident, well i can deal with it, as they are not with huge frequency. There are a few things I believe are causing or adding to to this; I believe a combo of meds and neuologic condition that varies in terms of exacerbations and a recent sugery that used my groin for access. I hope that it will not progress and be temporary, but in the meantime. ...Please let me know. Thanks.

" Oh yes the kids products would fit perfectly. If you are that small then the adult products are going to swallow you. I wore the kids products all through high school. Their designed so that kids are able to wear them without other people noticing, and they work really well. It could be just temporary.. I really hope that it is :o).. but if it continues to get worse I would suggest seeing a family doctor or urologist. There are several types of medications that can help with problems like this. And they can be taken as a temporary solution and weened off of them when you aren't having the same problems anymore. Good luck :o) "

" Yes Jim, I am in the medical field. I have the option of scrubs or business casual... I choose the later, but I wish I likes scrubs. Under scrubs you can eaily hide whatever you need to. I would advise not to say anything unless a situation warents it. One would think that because your collegues are also in the medical field, it would be okay, and it likely is, for many, but not all. I wouldn't go to extreme measure to hide it, but certainly not volunteer the info- it's personal as are so many other issues that we don't volunteer to our employers whether it be hypertension, cateracts, incontinece or any other thing you can think of that does not impair your ability to work or require accomodations. I wish you luck and hope you like your work. I am pleased to say my issues have resolved- it must have been trauma from a surgery. "

" Some of the fears I have is that this will be my first time going to a work place with this condition im not one who like to change work places....I have no controll do to no feeling of sensation to go it just goes....I have always worn pants that were made of a thicker material and a belt lol with the scrubs i feel like people will be able to tell... I also being the way we dispose of patients products would my products be required to be disposed of the same way..That is why I was concerned should I have it on my aplication and in my personel file for any circumstace that could arise in the future.....I hope to be able to keep a bag so i can have a change of cloths and product for those times of the day of changeing....I have come to grips that this will be my burdon for rest of life but hard this first year of different situations...ty so much for your reply...... " Well, I don't know what is best for you, that is something you will need to figure out, but in my experience in the medical field, I feel less is more. I do have a medical condition, and for awhile I never mentioned it as it wasn't really interferring with my job. Later, it got a bit worse and I had a greater frequency of doctors appts, hospita-based med txs etc... Due to the fact that I was needing to take time off, I just said I had a medical condition and had my physican verify that, but I never gave details. That will cover me, and given the medical clearance, it covers them... Yes, I would say if you are working in a hospital, nursing based facility,or doctors office it would likely be protocol to dispose of them as biohazard, as you would a patient's, realizing that the intent has nothing to due with stigma, merely it is due to the fact that janitors etc are disposing of them and it is to alert and protect them. That being said, if you can wrap them up, seal them and put them in your locker and dispose of them at home, you can do that too. You can always bring a backback and will likely have a locker for your stuff. Also, scrubs fit baggy. Wear 2 pairs of pant if you are concerned. On the occasional day that I wear scrubs if I am going to be doing surgery or whatever, if its the winter I always wear leggings or tighter pants under bc I get cold, but nobody an tell I have 2 pairs of pants on. Try that to see if that makes you feel better or wear a lab coat those go to your knees and can cover a multitude of accidents. Generally speaking, even if somebody noticed it won't be a big deal. I think everyone in the med community is usually sensitve to these issues, it justs gets complicated when you report something bc then it may escallate into bizarre hygiene rules, etc that just may make you feel ostracized, "
