SANCTURA for Incontinence

Just wanted to point out a severe reaction my wife had using SANCTURA for incontinece.
She has Parkinson's Disease, and the tremors associated with PD, was affecting the bladder muscles, causing incontinence. She tried Detrol LA, and Vesicare with no help, then was prescribed Sanctura. After 5 days on Sanctura, she was starting to have positive results, however on day 7, she collapsed, with total loss of all muscle strength. She could not stand up, roll over, or even lift her arms. She was transported to the emergency room at the local hospital for care. That was two weeks ago. She was treated for the reaction for 5 days, and since that time has been in Skilled Care Nursing, building up muscle strength and going through physical therapy to walk again. At this time, we don't know if the Sanctura reacted with another drug she was on for PD, or if this was an allergic reaction she had to the Sanctura. I just wanted to post this as a heads up if this med is prescribed to you. Posted on 11/03/07, 10:11 pm |
