Any pregnant ladies out there already get the H1N1 vacc? I keep hearing about stories about women who are dying, and my dad is a firefighter so of course he calls me this morning and tells me that a pregnant women caught the h1n1 and didn't make it.... and of course she doesn't live that far from me. I am so confused as to what to do. So I was hoping that one of you currently pregnant women got vacc so maybe you can tell me if you had any side effects or not. I didn't want to get this shot, but it is getting scary and maybe i would be better safe then sorry. Please let me know if you have gotten the vacc or not.

THanks

" I personally have not gotten the shot, and don't plan to. But I do know a lot of pregnant women who have and did not have any side affects. They only give the shot to preggers, not the spray which I believe contains the live virus, so there is a chance of getting a bit sick after. But the shot only contains the dead cells and other stuff so they say there is no chance you can get sick from getting it. I live in Maine and we are not being hit too hard, but still have a major shortage of the vaccine. Many children and preggers just can't get to it! If you do decide to go for it, I hope you don't have too hard a time finding it! Good Luck! "

" I got vaccianted last week for both the H1N1 and the sesonal flu. I had no side effects at all. My arm was sore from the seasonal shot but nothing from the other. My doctor highly recommended that I get it. Because she said that not only will I be vaccinating myself but also the babies. I have heard that for some reason the H1N1 has been effecting pregnant woman terribly and there has not been a lot of positive outcome for some pregnant women that get it. We are waiting right now to get my 15 month old daughter hers but the doctors office still does not have it in. I feel that it won't hurt to get it. I'm not one of those crazy germ people. But figure seeing that I could get it I would. "

" I got my vaccine one week ago. I have so far not had any symptoms. I was extremely worried about this shot but after talking with my doctor he said that one in every three pregnant women who get the H1N1 virus are admitted to the hospital. He said it can have devastating effects on the babies. He also told me this vaccine is made just like the regular influenza vaccine and reassured me that it is safe. I am so glad I got the shot due to that virus spreading like wild flowers. You don't know what the future holds but if I can protect my self and mostly my babies I hope I did the correct thing. Follow your heart! xoxo "
