I had my second ultrasound today and I am worried sick. Baby A measured at 7 weeks and 3 days with a heartbeat of 170 and baby B measured at 6 weeks 5 days and my Re could not find a heartbeat... She did find a yolk sack and fetal pole and said B grew since my last Us (two weeks ago). Now it is a waiting game to see if B will "make it." I am so sad and I feel like I did something wrong to make this happen. i am going through so my emotions- was it the coffee I drank, the cold I caught?, etc. I go in next Thursday- 10/29/09 for another US to determine if we will have one or two babies.

Baby A is doing "excellent" I feel blessed to have gotten pregnant with twins and I will be happy to be a mom (even if it is only one). The doctor said she has seen this before and then B catches up and she has also seen it and B vanishes. I am just feeling very sad and helpless. Love to all, Has this happened to any of you? Kristy

" My OB told me back when I was preggo with my twins that they like to wait til 9 weeks usually for US simply because its too hard to see both HBs... Don't give up yet, You can still pull through with both. "

" My dr. trys not to do U/S that early because he said it is sometimes hard to see all the heartbeats. If they are far enough away from the U/S wand you don't see the HB which is there. Don't loose hope yet, wait till thursday and then go from there!! Good luck I will be thinking of you. "

" Try not too worry too much honey. It is a little early. Sometimes it is a hard to get both heartbeats because one twin usually sits a little further back than the other one. Even when I was furhter along with my girls they always seemed to have a hard time hearing both heartbeats. If the baby is still growing that is a good sign:) Hang in there! "

" Don't give us hope the first u/s they saw only one pole and measured a good size. the other one was to small to measure and no pole and was told to be cautious. The next time it grew, had a pole and heartbeat. It is still smaller but now told everything is going ok. Keep positive. "

" I had my first U/S last week at 6 weeks 4 days which is when we discovered we were having 2. At that time Baby A had a yolk sac but not Baby B but I was told it's normal for one to be a bit behind than the other. We go in again tomorrow, hopefully to hear both heartbeats but I feel your worries. I pray that your baby B (and mine) catches up to the other and all ends up well. "

" I just got back from my US and baby A is growing at an amazing rate. She/he measured at 8 weeks and 6 days and I am 8 weeks and 1 day! Baby B does not have a heart beat and is much smaller in size than last week. i am sad and my heart acces for baby B but i am also glowing and thrilled that baby A is doing OK . Thank you for all of your love, thoughts and prayers. I am hanging in there. Baby A's HB was 170! "

" I'm so sorry to hear about Baby B - but that is wonderful news about Baby A. It's good you are focusing on the positive - a strong, healthy baby is such a blessing! :) "
