I'm going on 32 weeks with twin boys. My pregnancy has been pretty good with no real issues. My doc wants me to go to until 37 weeks, but says that most times twins don't make it that long. I'm praying, they stay put until they are healthy. How long did most of you ladies carry your twins until?

" I had a scheduled csection at 38wks but only made it to 35. Went in for a regular check up and was in labor and leaking fluid. Good pg overall, just very uncomfortable that last month. Make it as long as you can. Good Luck! "

" I had my twin girls at 28 weeks and they were in the NICU for 3 and a half months. Because of a subchorionic hematoma, PROM, and a few other things. Cambry was 1lb 12 oz and McKenzie was 2lbs 5oz. So however long you can keep them cooking is great! Despite being born early my girls are doing wonderful! "

" Amy, quick question for you about the subchronic hematoma......I have a hematoma (not sure if it's subchronic), but I'm only 10 weeks and they said they were going to watch it and I am also pregnant with twins. When did yours start to show? And if you don't mind me asking, did you have IVF? I did....that's what they think it's caused from......they are saying they usually disolve themselves.....just curious as to how yours worked.....any info would help. "

" Mine came at 34 weeks and 5 days. After four trips to Labor and Delivery to stop my contractions, we weren't able to stop them by then. My twins had to be intabated (fluid to fill their lungs since they were still collapsed.) They were in the NICU for 23 days and came home on monitors and oxygen for another month. They had a rough start, but just know that with modern medicine, your chances of taking home healthy babies is very high. They may need some time in the NICU, but they will be well taken care of there.

It was really hard to leave them every night, but I knew that I could not provide all the care that they needed for that time. They are perfectly healthy and happy 18 month olds with no delays in development whatsoever.

I wish you luck with your labor and delivery and that you are able to take home two healthy babies. "
