Hi!
I am new to the group and love the comments and advice ive seen so far.
im having problems getting over the fact that I cant have kids on my own
I was diagnosed with TS at 16 and it never really bothered me that I had it until 5 years ago when my sister started having kids. saw my mom gushing over my sisters belly and so excited to be a grandma. I feel horrible I cant provide that for my mom also. Im getting married in 7 weeks and I feel horrible that I cant give Eric the Children naturally that he wants. We have decided on adopting, but feel bad that its my fault we cant concieve. jen

" Just remember, he wouldn't marry you if he wasn't 100% comfortable with your infertility, so you have absolutely no need to feel guilty. He will have children, just not naturally. XxX "

" I found out I had mosaic TS 11months after we were married after 2 miscarriages.
It's pretty shitty because of all the things worry and ideals will do to a girls head.
But we're okay despite the stress of discussing PGD IVF, donor eggs, surrogate mothers and the inability to adopt(he's aged terribly since I married him so much so that he's now over the age limit to adopt).

The worst thing about this whole situation is definately our ability to torture ourselves with the variations of every possible outcome. "

" What exactly is too old to be a dad? What are the age cut offs? I guess it depends where you are trying to adopt.... "

" Mothers and Fathers to whom parenthood does not come easily are no lesser a parent than the next.
Perhaps though they are wiser and a little more compassionate about the sometimes harsh realities of life.

If you want to be a parent you just need to choose the road that is right for you and stay focused on the outcome.

There is no easy fix and it's all for the long-haul, and I'm glad I know that long before a child enters our home as a part of our family.

I am also trying very hard to be greatful that I know I have TS, so many I know don't know why they are infertile and go through years of trials with fertility treatment before they try IVF, and even then the fix is not an easy and sometimes not obtainable one.

In response to AmyL82, I'm not a citizen and he's 45.
So depending on agencies, states, countries and child-parent age difference, he's too old to adopt.
And depending on a green card and a passport, I'm too foreign to adopt without him on the ticket as I'm considered a flight risk by most.
Also as we've already started the IVF process we're now blacklisted from other agencies.

All in all IVF is the only way for us to go.
so that 20% chance in a 2 year time frame looks narrow, but I'll try. "
