I am writing for my niece. She has very thick hair, a webbed neck and a very low hairline on the back of her neck. We have tried shaving her neck, thinning her hair and short bobs. Nothing seems to look right or make things easy for her. She is 17 years old.

" Hi! Long and layered at the front is very flattering as the hairline at the back is covered, it can be worn in a low pony for work/school and the feathering to the front minimises the neck. Write me a wee privite message if you want me to send you pictures of what I mean! Or check out my picture here as that's how my hair is. "

" ridiculously expensive hairdresser once in long while??

I have very thin hair now that im 27, though it used to be very straight, thick and I also have the low hairline on the back of my neck.

A good hair stylist should know what to do, try growing her hair a bit longer and trying to get a dry cut from the salon's top dog.
might cost you 100 or so, but then get trimms from other less expensive places.

Use product too, even though she may be young, a good conditioner, light and non-claggy or greasy should be used.

Good luck with it. "

" HI, I,am a stylist of almost 30 yrs an also have thick hair and low hairline at the neck. Always hated I could't wear a pony tail or real short hair. Best advise some layers and shoulder length or little shorter. 17 is a rough age tell her to hang in there. And I have worked on alot of hair and she should like her thick hair thin is hard to do anything to LOL Bonnie "
