Confused, please help with OPK

I did OPK test strips this week. Although I normally ovulate on CD13, 14 or 15, this month it seems different.
I did an OPK test yesterday and got an 'almost' positive (it was way darker than the other ones the days before). So we BD. Today I did another one and it was absolutely positive this time. My temp started to go up today (indicating maybe I am or already did ovulate in the last day).

My question is, will the sperm be ok and live while this surge is happening? Do I have to BD tomorrow as well (my DH is at work until 11pm both tonight and tomorrow).

I assume the sperm from late last night will suffice for today, but I wonder if I should BD tomorrow evening (no matter how late he is) as well? I know sperm can live 24-72 hours, so I am praying if ovulation is happening right now the sperm is fine.

Just a little confused, so any input would help.

" Yes, sperm can live up to 5 days in the uterus so you should be just fine. That is why most doctors say to start BDing about 3 or 4 days before ovulation. The more little guys in there the better chance for fertilization. Hoping and praying for your BFP. XO :) "

" From what I've read and heard, you should start BDing every day as soon as you get the + OPK and keep going until your temp. shift confurms O. UNLESS SO/DH has sperm quantity issue, then keep it at every other day. "

" We BD on CD16, then on CD17 I got a definite +OPK, so I am hoping to BD again tonight and hopefully it works.

I am concerned about ovulating so late. I have read that can cause problems in maintaining a pregnancy.... "

" CD17 isn't late. They say after about 30 days that's when you need to be concerned, but 2to3 days longer definitely isn't a problem. You should be fine with BDing the day before you ovulate. *hugs* Good luck, hoping for that BFP. Though the ave cycle is 28, I know lots of women that have 30-40 day cycles with beautiful and healthy babies! "

" As long as you have the 12-16 days after you're fine, doesn't matter when you O as long as it's not like on CD 32. I O'd on CD 22 this cycle. "
