Yes, these meds can cause double vision and some vertigo and tinnitus. It is very frustrated when i try to read, I already wear glasses but I wonder when I went for my eye exam is it a true test for my eyes. I wonder if the script would be different if I was not on meds.
Did your MRI have the dye contrast as without nerve compressions may be missed.
I so sorry you have to take these med, but it sounds other than the vision issue you are doing ok.

Hi judelew, thanks so much for responding. Yes, my MRI had contrast. I am not pain free, the Neurologist is still trying to adjust my meds. Yes, I see your point about the eye exam results, how it would leave doubt in your mind. Even so, I think you were wise to get tested. I have not had an eye test since 2001 and it's time for me to make an appt. I'm sorry for you, too. These meds can be brutal. I do hope your having a pain free day. Blessings, T

I really don't know how you are tolerating the RX'x. You must a tough person. When I take the meds I am completely disabled just from drugs.Also, the doctors won't tell you most seizures med are a bone marrow supressor. I do not how how it takes,may years to affect the bone. I am A Vit D defiecent,so I did reseach on the drugs I take and it was some deep digging but I did find this info. So just heads up, when your get your blood work for the kidney and liver function bring it to your doctors attention. It also depend where you live in relation to the equator. You may not have a problem. My PCP told me he didn't know what caused the Vit d issue Hello!!. If you are getting plenty of outside sunrays you should be ok, I stay inside so much because of the constant pain as mine is Atypical wiith no remissions.

HI judelew, it takes a lot to knock me out , it always has. I'm taking 1200 mg of tegretol daily and 1200 mgs of neurontin daily. I don't know if this is considered a lot of med. or not. I can say this, it's not taking care of the job.

You are so right, their are some serious side effects. I have to honestly say, my Neuro Dr. was upfront with me about the ones you mentioned. He tests me monthly to check for just those things and more.

Oh my, at that level of RX's I would sleep for a month . I fear now when the Dr precribes those drugs I won't wake-up. But we are all different
how we respond to meds.

Just wanted to say I had alot of double vision when I was on Tegretol, Bacoflen and Lyrica. I ended up having the MVD surgery last May and am off all meds now with no pain. I was on Tegretol for eight years and it was starting to effect my skin and vision.
I had two MRI over the eight years and it didn't show any compression. I ended up with two artery compressions and two veins interferring with the nerve. All this was found in the MVD.

I pray for the day I can get off these toxic meds, the double vision seems to be coming every other day now.

I have been thru 5 different meds trying to find something that would not give me bad side effects. I ended up on trileptal. I was a much better choice because side effects were so bad. I had double vision on 1 of the meds and that messed me up bad.
Thanks for the Info on vitamin D I had a count of .25 and it should be over 30 the Dr said it was the lowest she had ever seen. Well now i know what it is. I was on tegretol for 6 mos b4 i couldnt take the side effects anymore. I hope you get yours under control.

Hi, and thanks for responding, julieolso. I am happy to report I am no longer having double vision! I became allergic to Tegretol and had to go off it. I have had no more vision problems since then.

My Neurontin has been doubled and is helping quite a bit. I pray you are feeling better yourself.
