i am new to this and i need some advice.
i find myself pulling my hair before i go to bed, when im bored, while im watching tv, while im doing homeowkr, or when im alone and lonely. i need some advice on how i can prevent myself from thinking about it and pulling out my hair.
i am embarassed and have been dealing wiht this on my own for 3 years now and hate going to the hair dresser cause im scared they are going to ask questions and i hate it cause i dont let me friends do my hair. i just want to fit in and be normal.
i have tried keeping my hair up i try changing my thoughts but i cant stop and want to. please help me.

" I've found just trying to change your mind won't cut it sometimes. find something to keep your hands busy- worry beads, a slinky (which I use and LOVE) a hairband, whatever it may be. Don't give up... be wary on the time of day you pull usually, try to find a pattern and prevent it. Visiting the "Stop pulling tips" thread may be helpful. "
