I'm sixteen and I'm pretty sure I have trich . I started pulling my hair over the summer and I'm still doing it now. I pull the "insides" of my hair so it's not too noticeable but my hair does look alot lighter(and I do have several bald patches.) I want to talk to my school counselor or psychologist because I really need the help because I really can't stop yanking(and its getting worse), but I'm not sure who to talk to. I also don't know how I'm going to tell them either. I'm too scared/ashamed/embarrased to walk into their office and be all like, "I have trich. Can you help me?" and what if they don't know what trichotillomania is?
I was thinking about writing them an e-mail first(then they'll probably send me a pass during class so I can talk to them then) but I have no idea what to write. so u really do nt have to be ashamed to talk to a psychologist. they should know. and if they dont, an email is a good idea, so they can research it. but they should really know. my psych teacher even knew. i went up to her after class and said, so do you know what trichotillomania is? she said of course. and i said well i have it,. heres an idea of what to write. dear ______________, i am a student in the school. my name is juicy couture lover. (lol) i am writing an email to you because i am sort of embarrassed to go in and talk to you about this. I dont know if u know what it is, but i have trichotillomania. i was hoping to talk to someone about this. because i a, having trouble dealing with it, and i was hoping maybe u could help me out. thanks so much. -Juicy Couture lover
