My boyfriend is a transgender. We have been seeing each other for over a year and a few months ago he confessed to me. He is currently going through the final operations to complete the process. He should of undergone an op this week however, it got cancelled and this really depressed him and he has tried to commit suicide. I am supporting him the best that i can but he always says that he doesn't deserve me and that i am better off without him but i'm trying to get through to him that he does deserve me and that i wouldn't be better off without him.

I'm worried about your boyfriend's suicidal attempts, which this attention requires more than just friendship, but rather the guidance of a professional councilor/gender specialist to help him with his depression, and suicidal attempts.

is your boyfriend male to female? or female to male transsexual? What age range are we in? I know so very little to base any opinions on, but for some reason I got the feeling that there is some emotional manipulating going on here. It is pretty unusual for an operation to get cancelled like that, these are things that are set up a long ways in advance, and they are not changed or cancelled casually. I'm sorry if my suspicions distress you. Also if your boyfriend is genuine and he is in such a severe depression, then I agree with Rhonda, He needs professional help, depression can be deadly. Whatever is wrong with your boyfriend, I hope that he recovers. Regards Symantha

I would have to agree with them both something does not seem to be on the level here. usally when you set the date for the operation they want everything up front and do not cancel them either. Take him to his theropist he should have one if not then something is not right. sorry to sound cruel.
