I'm right here with you girly :( This week has been a bad and stressful week so they've been 10 times worse! And im in so much pain, idk how to stop it while happening but, when you get home after a long day i put a heating pad on my shoulders/neck and then a cold wash cloth on my forehead and lay inthe dark when it's time to sleep, when im in that much pain it really helps! Doesnt make the ticks go away, but sooths it alittle! I hope you feel better soon! And im here too talk whenever!

i remember that pain , i know its horrible and there are ways you can control it. As Long as you believe they will work , i promise you they will.
When and if u can feel a twitch coming on , take a deep breath and tell yourself your incharge of your twitches they aren't in control of you.tell yourself that as many times as you can . also try an hour of physical activity each day or multiple times a week studies show it really helps ! , it also helped me i took dance class, and or worked out. even try drawing , something that will take your mind off the twitches . please stay strong !

Hi guys, I'm Lynn and my 11 year old has ts,anxiety, ocd, etc. He has started now with vocal tics and is having a hard time in school, going to sleep too. He can't even go to a movie now. Plus, he is now barking. Last night he cried and cried because he "couldn't stop barking". I turned off the lights and got some great smelling lotion and gave him a leg and foot massage. After about 30 min. he drifted off to sleep. Do you guys find that if you almost divert your attention you can ease them somewhat? Any advice as what to do when he is that bad? I tried playing a game but that was worse. My heart breaks for him and for all of you. God bless you all. And Taydaisy, I'm praying for you!!!

my 21 year old daughter has tourettes and OCD. she's 7 months pregnant and is suffering. She used to rub her eyes so hard that she needed 2 corneal transplants. now instead of rubbing her eyes, she pushes hard on her jaw causing nerve damage which makes her face droop like she had a stroke. She's very stressed and depressed. Are there any services in the Rochester, N.H. area to help her?

Gee my heart goes out to you both. I can only imagine how hard it must be for your daughter and you to cope with. Have you tried a neurologist. My concern here is that the baby will be effected by the stress. Studies show that when the mother is very stressed her stress chemicals can effect the brain of the growing fetus. I would get to a doctor asap. Has your daughter tried relaxation techniques. Let us know how you get on.
