I have it since I was tiny and to get where I am now and for a health care provider to tell you to see about mediction really? anyone ever eles get that alot its not the fist time I get it alot what Im suppose to be doing to help myself. I have taken meds for awhile and they either stop working or bad side effects so for someone to tell me about it grr! " You can nip it in the bud by just saying "Thanks for the advice but my neurologist is taking care of that" putting the accent on neurologist.

You are right, you shouldn't have to explain anything to the nurse or anyone else. Chances are it's curiosity on the part of the nurses and so on as many of them very likely haven't dealt with someone with TS before. Send them to the TS association website for more info ;)

If you want to find out about any "new" treatments for TS, talk to a neurologist or psychiatrist, one that's experienced in treating TS. There may be things. Another idea would be going to the TS association website. They tend to have all that stuff listed on the site. "

" Hey, I have tourettes too! Welcome to the family! lol. I have taken many different medicines for tourettes. But like you said they either stop working, have bad side effects, or don't work at all! It has taken me a long time to get the right combination of medicines. The combination I have now still doesn't work perfectly. It helps me with my tourettes, but I still have a lot of tics sometimes, and it makes me always hungry, so I gain more weight now. I guess we just have to keep trying, and work with what we have. And I agree with how annoying it is when people act like they know what you are going through. they just don't get it! Anyways, *hugs*! "
